The Signature Treatment

The Hamman Ritual (80 minutes, $329) is by far the most popular treatment at The Spa at Condado Vanderbilt. The Spa is the only location in Puerto Rico offering the ritual of the Hamman which is an unprecedented experience weaving ancient purification rituals with modern techniques to help you connect with your inner self. Spa Director Dagmarie Sanchez describes the treatment in perfect detail.

“Starting with personal olive oil soap, Kessa mitt and Pestemal cloth —an authentic Turkish bath towel —in which to wrap you. Rest on the heated marble table and allow our expert therapist to exfoliate your body. Enjoy water cascading down your body as impurities are rinsed away, then rest on the warm marble table as showers of moisturizing bubbles rain upon you and a subtle spray of rosewater refreshes your senses. Finish in a hydro-sensorial rain shower to delight in a cooling mist, a Caribbean storm, and summer rain.”

Marketing

Attracting new clients and encouraging clients to revisit is an easy task at the Vanderbilt Spa. Many travelers visit the Spa because it is the only spa that offers the Hamman Ritual on the island of Puerto Rico. “It’s artfully personalized and guests have a different, yet always equally powerful experience every time,” Sanchez explains. Staff Performance

The Spa at Condado Vanderbilt is proud to have a skilled staff of trained therapists that work well together. “ I always want my team to be one step ahead so they can make decisions. They are all cross-trained to assist each other,” says Sanchez. Spa Director Sanchez holds daily meetings that last about 15 minutes. She also takes pride in her open-door policy, in which she has one-on-one weekly trainings. “I always train the team of the Forbes standard, which is our core philosophy,” she explains. To show appreciation of the team, Sanchez often provides breakfast and lunch to her staff and gives out quarterly awards to highlight their amazing work. Team members are also gifted products from the spa’s suppliers.

Special Events and Promotions

The most popular time of the year is Fall when the spa incorporates pumpkin spice and promotes its famous Cafecito treatment. “We also have Cryo-T Shock which is one of the add ons that has become one of the most popular,” says Sanchez. The Anti-Aging Cryo-T Shock Facial consists of a purifying cleanse and an anti-aging Cro-T Shock session that addresses and reduces the appearance of fine lines while stimulating collagen production.

The Cryo-T Shock Slimming treatment treats your desired target areas. An ADI cell thermographic image will detect fat or cellulite and then the lymphatic Cryo-T Shock drainage is performed. In addition to these treatments, the spa also has its own Gentlemen’s Menu crafted for the unique needs of gentlemen’s grooming, create a complete experience for men only. For massage oils, the Spa uses oils from a local vendor called Tres Hojas in three different scents: citrus cilantro, lavender peppermint, and lotus flower.

Spa Director Dagmarie Sanchez visits Spa Conferences frequently to try new products. This is an excellent way to get to know new brands discover ones that align best with your spa business.
