“Rooted in the connection to the natural world around us, our spa design draws from the inherent wisdom and curative properties of the Sonoran Desert along with the four elements – earth, water, air, and fire,” says Spa Director Stevie White.

Inspired by water, the Spa at CIVANA embraces this source of life and its therapeutic properties by recapturing its every flow through the Aqua Therapy Circuit, a hydrotherapy therapy thermal circuit of hot and cold pools, a cool waterfall shower and KLAFS SANARIUM® – the only 5 seasons sauna in the continental U.S. All guests are encouraged to begin their spa day with this rejuvenating experience, before indulging in a calming and restorative treatment in its nature-inspired rooms.

In addition to this water series, the Spa offers more than 23 treatment rooms located on two levels, men’s and women’s locker lounges, and an outdoor 25-meter heated spa saltwater pool for lap swimming, lounging, bistro-style seating, and four private cabanas. “Our co-ed relaxation lounge is a grounding sanctuary and the perfect place to rest before and after your treatment, offering healthy snacks and teas, oversized lounge pods, and a sweeping view of Black Mountain,” says White.

The Signature Treatment

The Spa’s most popular treatment is the CIVANA Renew ( 90 min, $260). “This treatment is designed for your inner body, your cellular body, where all the magic happens,” says Spa Director White. The treatment includes wellness rituals and techniques that encourage change within the tissues, increased lymphatic flow, circulation, and elimination while providing herbal nourishment to restore and renew the body.

“This service begins with a full-body dry brushing with a brush to take home and use in your own self-care routine, followed by a full body massage using our Spa Technologies Drainage Oil, full of sage, cypress, juniper, and eucalyptus,” explains White. CIVANA Renew also features cupping and gua sha to stimulate circulation further and promote healing.

Marketing

A top 10 wellness result of USA Today and #3 in the U.S. for Travel and Leisure in 2020, CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa is well known for the one-of-a-kind experience and unmatched hospitality it provides for its guests. “Most of the people who come here want a true spa getaway, as it is an integral part of the CIVANA experience. I do have to say, though, the people who have experienced CIVANA are our best marketing tool – the reviews, blogs, posts tell it all! It’s a special place,” says Stevie White.

Special Events and Promotions

In partnership with Chopra Global, founded by world-renowned health icon Dr. Deepak Chopra, CIVANA hold’s a Chopra While Health Retreat twice monthly. This wellness program includes a 5-night stay at the resort, four locally sourced vegan meals, meditation and yoga, custom spa experiences and access to spa amenities, a 1-on-1 health consultation, free access to a sound meditation class, and daily Whole Health educational classes.

In addition to this unique offering, Spa Director White says, “we would love to host an open house to showcase the Spa, salon, and retail offerings. Allowing guests to have mini services, hear from our vendors about the incredible products we offer and enjoy some of our delicious plant-based menu items.”

Revenue and Retail

The Spa at CIVANA has a beautiful boutique boasting a well-rounded offering of curated wellness and skincare products from bespoke brands that compliment the Spa’s wide range of wellness services. “Our boutique is a fun, warm, and inviting space and a ‘must-see’ if you are a shopper,” says White. The Spa is committed to using lines that are as clean and

natural as possible and committed to the environment as they are to their clientele. The Spa’s main skincare lines include Spa Technologies and Naturopathica. The boutique and Spa also feature brands like Kypris, Spa Ritual, and Vital Body.

Spa Director Spotlight

Stevie White, CIVANA Spa Director, has been in the spa industry for 13 years. She is a native of Arizona and worked at Joya Spa for 12 years prior to joining the CIVANA team. Where she started at the spa desk and held the following positions before moving into the director role; spa trainer, spa supervisor, group sales, and assistant director.
