Esthetician Spotlight

With Danielle Greco, the Owner or Pure Bloom Skincare

Where are you located?

My studio, Pure Bloom Skincare, is located in Woodridge, Illinois, a suburb outside of Chicago. This will be my 5th year in business!

Can you give a little information about your background as an esthetician?

I have been a licensed esthetician since 2013. Upon graduating, I worked as a lead esthetician at a spa and worked in beauty industry trade shows as a product representative. I always had a dream of opening up my own skincare studio, and in 2017 I launched Pure Bloom Skincare! My vision for my studio was always ‘results meets relaxation’, and I have been able to tailor my treatments in a way that embodies that. Pure Bloom Skincare is a place of transformation, healing, and good vibes.

My signature treatment is my “Oxygen Gloss Facial”

What inspired you to become an esthetician?

My journey started as an esthetician after dealing with my own skin issues of acne for quite some time. After successfully treating my own concerns with the help of an esthetician, my passion for skincare started. Helping others feel better about their own skin became something I loved, and still do to this day.

What skincare philosophy do you stand by?

I believe in treating the skin as a whole. Achieving healthy skin requires diving into more than just what you’re using on your skin. Skin health is determined by a variety of factors such as lifestyle, stress, diet, genetics, environment, lymphatic system, and more. You need to address everything to obtain healthy skin.

What is your signature treatment?

My signature treatment is my “Oxygen Gloss Facial”. This is essentially a gentle peel that breathes life back into your skin cells and leaves you with rejuvenated glowing skin. It’s a client favorite, especially before weddings and special events!

What brands do you use and why?

When picking brands I wanted to make sure they aligned with my personal values and ethics. I wanted to use brands that can help treat any skin type that walks through my door and not feel like I can’t help transform their skin. The brands I choose to work with include Lira Clinical, Glymed Plus, Hale and Hush, and Skin Script.

What are three skincare ingredients you can’t live without?

If I had to choose only 3 ingredients it would have to be sunscreen, retinol, and vitamin C.

What is your specialty?

I would say my specialty is facial massage. Massage is so underrated! Some people view it as “fluff”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. My massage technique is heavily influenced by Hungarian massage practices, so it is highly result-driven. I work at addressing muscle tension and lymphatic drainage to effectively get a more lifted and sculpted face.

What is your favorite skin type to treat?

My favorite skin type to treat is aging skin. I love when my clients feel they have actually aged backward after seeing me monthly and being strict with their home care.

What are your favorite tools to use in the treatment room and why?

Hands will always be the best tool in my book, but some other favorites are gua sha stones, Celluma LED, and my Rezenerate nano-infusion device.

Any tips for estheticians wanting to go solo?

My biggest tip for estheticians going solo is to be authentic to you and not compare yourself to other estheticians. This is what will set you apart and keep you focused on your own business. Other tips would be to niche down, keep educating yourself, and trust the process.
