What inspired you to become an esthetician?

My mother has been a licensed cosmetologist for more than 45 years, so growing up around the beauty industry was a big part of my life. I, too, wanted to be a part of helping others feel beautiful! I originally enrolled in esthetics with the goal of being a full-time makeup artist. While participating hands-on in my esthetic program, I became fascinated learning about skin health and its functions and understanding how great skincare and a beautiful makeup application work in synergy.

What beauty philosophy do you stand by?

“Beauty starts on the inside” and “Less is more.”

What is your favorite treatment?

My favorite in-office treatment consists of Dermaplane exfoliation, Nano-Infusion using Herbal Skin Solutions CIT Pen, and Vitamin C+ Enhancement Serum followed by LED Light Therapy with my Celluma Pro.

My go-to skincare line in the treatment room is Herbal Skin Solutions! What is your secret to beautiful skin?

Incorporating Herbal Skin Solutions Blue Moon Overnight Sleeping Mask with a high dose of Vitamin A three to four nights a week! The Chamazulene in the formula is the active ingredient that enriches the Retinol with soothing, anti-inflammatory properties that calm the skin almost instantly! I also treat myself to monthly Dermaplane and LED Light Therapy facials with my favorite local estheticians and incorporate preventative treatments such as Nano-Infusion and Microneedling.

What is your favorite part about working for your company?

As a member of the Herbal Skin Solutions/The Esthetics Academy team, I have played a role in curating many of their product launches to bring fellow professionals and end consumers clinical, organic and sustainably sourced, professional grade products that are both natural and effective. Being behind the scenes during the process of formulations from concept to creation, along with working on case studies, has given me a greater understanding of ingredients and the importance of ethical product sourcing while experiencing phenomenal results in and out of the treatment room. Having the opportunity to pass my knowledge along to fellow professionals and educate my clients has been so rewarding!
